Welcome to CreativeAnswers4EBD.org. This website focuses on providing creative strategies for helping children with emotional and behavioral disorders. It was designed and created with the premise of making it easier for teachers to find information on how to help students with emotional and behavioral disorders. Students with emotional and behavioral impairments demand unique and complex interventions, strategies, and resources (Braaten, Kauffman,Polsgrove & Nelson, 1998). Traditional methods that rely on higher levels of cognitive abilities may create more problems and failure situations for these students and thus many increase inappropriate behavior and negative self-esteem (Omizo & Omizo, 1988). Highly skilled teachers, prepared to work with this population can be more successful if they use special technologies within the structure of their lesson plans (Caputo, 1993). This website is a quest to highlight the idea of using creative strategies in the classroom as a possible strategy to reach students with emotional and behavioral disorders.

The information on this site is a collaboration of ideas from various professionals listed in the Credits section of CreativeAnswers4EBD.org. We hope it will be a useful tool for teachers who are trying to find creative ways to help their students.
